a The Knoxville News-Sentinel, Thursday, December 29, 1983 Community Leader, Mrs. Ramsey, Dies Charlotte S. Ramsey, 47, Fountain City community worker and wife of a TVA official, died Tuesday at St. Mary's Medical Center. She had cancer.
Her husband, Maxwell D. Ramsey, is program manager for TVA's cultural resources program. Mrs. Ramsey Mrs. Ramsey He also has been active with associations which promote recreation and conservation.
Mrs. Ramsey, 5304 Lindmont Drive, was a member of Fountain City St. Paul's United Methodist Church. She was coordinator of the church's children's department, a Bible School director, Sunday School teacher, president of the churchwomen, circle chairman and a member of the administrative board. She also served as an officer in Shannondale Elementary, School, Gresham Junior High School and Central High School PTAs.
She was named "woman of the year" by the Shannondale PTA. Mrs. Ramsey was a member of the Fountain City Recreation Commission and a Knoxville Zoo docent. She had served as president of the Harrill Heights Garden Club and president of the St. Mary's Medical Center's medical auxiliary.
She was member of the Fontinalis Club and Fountain City Town Hall. Besides her husband, she also leaves sons, Charles T. Ramsey and Maxwell D. Ramsey, both of Knoxville; parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Charles Siler Middlesboro, sister, Mrs. Norma Gail Geshler, San Juan, Puerto Rico; and brother, Charles Siler III, Atlanta, Ga. Services will be at 8:30 p.m. tomorrow at St. Paul's.

Executive William Bowld, Hospital Benefactor, Dies Bowld, 88, retired Gamble Co. executive longtime UT died Crystal where recent Memphis and Bowld and received chemical engineering University. From 1920 worked with Buckeye a Proctor GamHe was named vice general manager in that position until he longtime supporter of Memphis medical education and service. In 1969 when he joined the UT Development Council, he gave UT $50,000 for the Memphis medical units.
In recognition of his service to the Memphis Hospitals Authority, a new, 148-bed hospital wing was named in his honor. The William F. Bowld Hospital now is UT's clinical research hospital. He leaves his wife, Kay, Crystal River, and a son, William F. Bowld Geneva, Switzerland.

today at Kyker's. Execution of Laney Set for April 3 The State Supreme Court has set April 3 as the execution date for Thomas Gerald Laney, convicted of killing Kingsport grocer Sam Showkeir in 1980. The U.S. Supreme Court last month denied an appeal to consider the case. Laney, 31, Kingsport, was convicted of first -degree murder in connection with the death of Showkeir during a robbery attempt and shootout at Showkeir's home.
