Your Summer Sidekick

With air conditioning becoming increasingly expensive these days, finding practical ways to stay cool in the summer is essential! While a fan can suffice most of the time, sweltering 100-degree heatwaves call for more ingenuity.

Enter homemade creamsicle popsicles—your new best friend for surviving the summer heat. Unlike store-bought creamsicles loaded with sugar and fat, these frozen treats are ultra-delicious and healthy for a guilt-free indulgence.

They offer a refreshing burst of flavor that makes getting through even the hottest days a total breeze (see what I did there?). Featuring natural ingredients, like Greek yogurt, fresh citrus, and bananas, these ice pops prove that frozen treats really can satisfy your sweet tooth in a nourishing way.

Here’s What You’ll Need

  • Plain Greek Yogurt: Makes up the base of these creamsicle popsicles. It differs from regular yogurt in that a lot of the extra water has been drawn out, making for a thicker, creamier texture. This is perfect in popsicles, where more water leads to crystallization (i.e. inedible ice blocks). Find out how to make Greek yogurt here for an even healthier treat!
  • Banana: Adds natural sweetness and provides more creaminess. If you’re not a banana fan, substitute 1/4 cup of full-fat coconut milk per banana.
  • Citrus: Fresh citrus juice gives these pops their classic lemon, lime, and orange creamsicle flavor. And don’t forget the citrus zest! Flavors tend to become less intense when you freeze them, and the zest will pack a punch of flavor to give these pops their addictive taste.
  • Vanilla: For that classic creamsicle taste, we need vanilla extract! It adds a warm, sweet note that complements the citrus flavors perfectly.
  • Honey: Not only does honey add the perfect amount of natural sweetness, but it also helps to enhance the overall flavor profile.

Making Creamsicles Has Never Been Easier

  1. Blend all ingredients for the popsicle flavor you want to make.
  2. Freeze the creamsicles until hard (at least 4 hours).
  3. Eat them after running the mold under warm water for a few seconds!
